  18.   There is a known installation problem with Paradox 3.0 and MS-DOS
  19.   Version 4.01.  It is possible to encounter an error when
  20.   installing Paradox with the System 1 diskette.  The following
  21.   workaround will enable you to install Paradox 3.0.  The reason
  22.   for the workaround is due to the fact that MS-DOS version 4.01
  23.   was released after Paradox 3.0 was released.

  25.      1.  Rename your Autoexec.bat file.  This is done as follows:
  26.  
  27.             a.  At your DOS prompt, type CD C:\
  28.                 Then press <Enter>
  29.  
  30.             b.  Type REN Autoexec.bat Autoexe1.bat
  31.                 Then press <Enter>
  32.  
  33.      2.  Rename your Config.sys file.  This is done as follows:
  34.  
  35.             a.  Type REN Config.sys Config1.sys
  36.                 Then press <Enter>
  37.  
  38.      3.  Press <Ctrl><Alt><Del> to reboot your PC.
  39.  
  40.      4.  When your DOS prompt appears, install Paradox 3.0.

  42.      5.  When Paradox 3.0 is successfully installed, rename your
  43.          Autoexe1.bat file to Autoexec.bat.  This is done as
  44.          follows:

  46.             a.  At your DOS prompt, type CD C:\
  47.                 Then press <Enter>
  48.  
  49.             b.  Type REN Autoexe1.bat Autoexec.bat
  50.                 Then press <Enter>
  51.  
  52.      6.  Rename your Config1.sys file.  This is done as follows:

  54.             a.  Type REN Config1.sys Config.sys
  55.                 Then press <Enter>.
